Aging While Black

It’s Totally Up to Us

We can proactively plan to thrive as we age or succumb with indifference to the ravages of time. As the years unfold our choice, whether we are conscious of it or not, reveals itself. It shows itself in the self-fulfilling prophesies we make, the opportunities we embrace, limitations we allow, the longing for yesteryear when the future is before us.

How can we course correct when we examine how we are aging and aren’t pleased with the trajectory? How can we sustain the momentum we’ve attained and experience continued well being? The answer to both questions is the same: Cultivate a positive perception of aging.

Hearing the life stories, strategies and hacks of fellow AfroBoomers doing the same makes accomplishing this mindset shift easier. The AfroBoomer’s Salon is the perfect place to do this in community with others.

“The great thing about getting older is that you don’t lose all the ages you have been.”

—Madeleine L’Engle
